Student Organizations play a crucial role in the vibrant campus life at Lamar University. These groups organize various extra- and co-curricular activities for the campus community and engage in service projects on and off campus. Moreover, student organizations provide an avenue for students to refine their leadership skills and network with their peers, faculty, and staff.
To ensure a positive and fruitful experience, we strongly encourage you to review our handbook and website for updated policies, procedures, and co-sponsorship protocols. The handbook provides valuable information and resources to help you plan diverse, engaging, and exceptional events while creating memorable experiences for your organization and the university community.
Our mission is to facilitate leadership and involvement opportunities that enhance personal, interpersonal, and organizational development for Lamar University students. We are dedicated to making your time serving in a student organization as seamless and beneficial as possible.
LU Hub is a highly functional, intuitive platform delivering a holistic campus experience to students, helping to build student engagement outside of the classroom. It also provides a complete toolkit for groups to manage their activities within a private campus network, allowing students to connect, share, and get involved.
A group of Lamar University students may apply for recognition as a student organization if they meet the eligibility requirements and complete the Registration process (available after signing in) on LU Hub.
Existing organizations must renew their registration annually via the Update Officers button on the Officers section of their Group Page on LU Hub. New officers will be reviewed to see that they meet the eligibility requirements. Organizations with old registrations will be considered inactive until the re-registration is fully completed.
Our office is here to offer and assist in a wide range of trainings and workshops to help your student organization reach its full potential. Our services include administration and management of a student organization as an officer, or advisor. When you become an officer a training module will be automatically assigned to you on LU Hub. If you need additional support or training, please reach out!
